Reinier Mendez is Executive Chef of La Romanita Restaurant and Lounge. Chef “Rey’s” passion for cooking began at a young age in his native Havana, Cuba. La Romanita combines his love of Italian cuisine with his Cuban roots. Chef Rey honed his skills at such restaurants as Casa Tua Cucina, Lure Fish Bar and STK Miami among other restaurants. Chef Rey’s first restaurant is the renowned Pan.Com Sandwhicheria in Hialeah. Chef Rey was awarded the prestigious Sobe Seafood Festival Oyster Pit award in 2018. Chef Rey has taken his experience and passion of making high-quality food to create unparalleled Italian cuisine with a Cuban twist all in a high-end setting in the New Amelia District of Hialeah.
