At the helm of this neighborhood eatery is Executive Chef Reinier “Rey” Mendez, who draws from both Cuban and Italian influences when creating his menus.
The menu is a selection of Latin-inspired dishes as well Italian focused dishes such as house-made pastas that come with a choice of orecchiette, spaghetti, penne, or fettuccine. The options of sauces range from rich to light and savory. Perfect for sharing, Chef Rey’s Pizza uses a homemade dough made into a thin, crispy crust with a variety of toppings.
The globally sourced boutique wine list includes over 80 different types of wines from regions all over the world. It features everything from vintages, unique terroirs, and notable wineries to more approachable labels and bottles for any occasion.
Located in the heart of Hialeah, La Romanita is a blend of the ingredients, traditions, and originality of Cuban and Italian cuisine. Every element of the restaurant is curated by Chef Renier Mendez and his executive team.
La Romanita is a reflection of Mendez’s style and experiences. He is the former executive chef of Miami’s Lure Fish Bar, Casa Tua Cucina, and Naked Crab.
